Privacy Statement
Your personal information will be handled in line with obligations under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2024 (Vic) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (subsequently referred to as ‘privacy law’). Personal information is information or an opinion about an identifiable individual. Personal information includes an individual’s name and contact details.
The following submission webform may collect personal information about you, including your name, contact details, employment details, opinions, feedback and any other personal information you volunteer about yourself or other individuals in the free-text fields. You are not required to provide your personal information to us. We recognise that in your submission you may wish to share personal impacts or experiences. Please do not provide any personal information about other people in your submission without consent or authority (for example information about your own children). If you do not provide contact information to us, we may not be able to undertake actions available to you such as requesting or participating in follow up engagement with the Review.
Collection of your information
Your personal information as provided in this submission may be collected by:
- KordaMentha, in its capacity as a contracted service provider for the Department of Education
- KordaMentha’s contracted service providers, including its online webform provider.
Purpose of collecting your information
Your personal information is collected by KordaMentha’s contracted service providers for the purposes of:
- informing the development of the Review and related products
- inviting you to participate in future consultation related to the products above, including contacting you in relation to your submission where you have agreed
This information may be used for reporting purposes but will be de-identified prior to being published. By providing us with the information in your submission, you consent to KordaMentha using the information for its primary purpose.
Disclosure of your personal information
Your submission (including any personal information you include in your submission) may be disclosed to the following parties:
- the Department of Education.
- the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA).
- Contracted partners of the Department of Education and/or the VCAA.
Your personal information may also be disclosed to other parties where you have agreed, or where it is otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act. Your personal information will not be used in any public report.
Your submission may also be disclosed to the Department of Education if the content falls within an exception to the primary purpose for which it was collected, where use and disclosure is required to:
- enable the Department to fulfil its duty of care to students, staff and visitors
- provide a safe workplace in accordance with occupational health and safety law
- for a child wellbeing or safety purpose
- reasonably necessary to carry out a law enforcement function
